Une marque célèbre que tous connaissent !
On Tuesday 5th July, le Tour de France graced Lescouet-Gouarec with its presence. To celebrate this exciting sporting event, under the direction of Paul Smith, members of the group worked for several weeks to bring to life his artistic tribute to Le Tour.
We created a "Temple du Vélo", complete with a golden bike !, and also a large banner with Paul's cycling motif created specially for this occasion. Members were also able to buy aprons, t-shirts and bags with a version of this motif screen-printed on.
A lot of preparation (willingly done!) made this a very special day. An open communal picnic during the day for inhabitants of Lescouet was followed by a grand barbecue in the evening. The weather was just about kind to us!
Paul's idea was to celebrate the sporting event, but also to celebrate our commune of Lescouet and the international culture that thrives here. Our verdict: A great success, Paul. Too many people to thank individually - so THANK YOU ONE AND ALL!
